Black Bear Gets Creative to Help Creative Students

 

DECATUR (March 4, 2009) – Black Bear Design Group has found yet another way to support a community they love. In addition to mentoring children at Fulton Academy, and on the soccer field , this ambitious design company has created a scholarship for Decatur High School. 

 

Black Bear Design Group is a multi-media marketing firm based in Decatur, Georgia. Established in 2004 by marketing and business experts Randee and Joel Black, the company has grown to be a premier marketing source for many Atlanta-based companies. Providing a wide array of clientele keeps them vigorous and versatile. 

 

"So many students are creative and love to design but do not have the financial support to continue their education" says owner Randee Black. "This scholarship is our way of showing a child support and encouragement." 

 

 The guidelines for the scholarship are as follows:

 

  • $1,000 scholarship to student athlete at Decatur High School
  • Student must be going on to a university, college or art school
  • Student must be majoring in an art related field
  • Student must be a senior in high school
  • Student is required to have at least a 3.0 GPA graduating from Decatur High School
  • Student should submit an essay stating why they want to go in to a graphics or web related field along with a few portfolio samples (by April 30)
