Google +1 Button Showing in Search Results

As I have posted about recently, Google is integrating social connections into their search results.  Well, the people over at Google took it a step further with their own system.  Shortly you will see a +1 button showing up with search result.

The idea is to have a way to tag that search result as something that you like…and you think your social circle will like as well.  On the Google blog, the company talks about how it will factor the +1 likes along with other people in your social circle such as twitter, and those results will rank higher in your personalized results.

Google says in their blog that this new +1 button feature will help bring even better search results around:

We’re confident that +1, combined with all of the social content we’re now including in search, will mean even better, more relevant results than you get today.

For all of us that write content, spend time reading and sharing content as well as optimizing our content the way it should be done, I think this will bring about better placement for us.
