Affordable Web Design

Affordable web design does exist, you just have to balance needs versus wants, start out small, then expand. Many times when web design companies are quoting websites, they get excited about all the possibilities and cool features a website could have and end up blowing the budget out of the water. Lets discuss a few steps we can take to keep a website design affordable.

Create A List Of Website Features

I’m a list kind of guy, so the first step for me would be to draw a line down the center of a piece of paper and write must-haves on the left and nice-to-haves on the right. Some examples of the things in the left-hand column might be a contact us page, information about your services and a good clean structure so you’ll have a better chance of being indexed by search engines.

As you move over to the right-hand column, you might have things in there such as a slider image on the homepage, mobile responsive design and a content management system to update your content. These things are really nice to have but can always be added in down the road when you have a bigger budget for it.

Having Content Ready Saves On Web Design

Other than a wants versus needs list, there are a couple other things you can do to make a website affordable. One other avoidable cost in website design is content creation. If you’re trying to save money on website design, make an outline of your website and write your content for each page. This is one of those things that takes time, but no one really knows it better than you, it’s your company.  So if you want to make your website design a little more affordable, write all your content and organize it into word documents.

Having Images Ready Saves On Web Design

Another way to save a little cash and make a website more affordable is to do the research and purchase your own images. This is one of those items that takes a web design company a considerable amount of time to research and purchase images that compliment your content. If you’re writing your own content, search for images on sites like and find an image that goes along with it. Most of the time you only need a small sized image, 72 dpi and 500 x 500 and dimensions.

What Is Your Budget?

One of the last things I would recommend to build an affordable website is to state  your budget. There are many different paths a web design can take, including an easy and basic website to a robust interactive content driven website. A web design company like ours, whose mission is to create remarkable online experiences, is going to naturally propose a remarkable solution. If you’re working on a budget, make that budget known to the web design company so they can propose a solution within your budget. So whether your budget is $3000 or $300,000, go ahead and throw it out there.  The mentality that a company will max out your budget if you tell them is not true. I would say eight out of 10 times we come in over what a client has in mind if they do not tell us the budget.  If they tell us the budget, we make every effort to come in under budget because we want the work.

What Did You Pay For A Website?

I would love to hear what the perception of cost of a website would be. If you’ve wanted to build a website for your company but haven’t because you think it’s too much, post in the comments what would be a good budget for a basic website for company. Or if you’ve already built a website, how much did you pay? I would love to do some post on actual cost of websites.

It’s awesome to go to see this web site and reading the
views of all friends on the topic of this piece of writing,
while I am also keen of getting know-how.

  2. Informative collection. Nowadays, it’s been an evolutionary change in affordable website design where the self-driven mode is enhanced and people started adoring to these type of services.
